The short version: the one-time build fee ($1,200 Starter, $1,800 Standard or $2,400 Pro) pays for designing and setting up your website. The website stays online through the Upkeep Plan ($50/month, or $75/month for Pro), which has a 12-month minimum. If the Upkeep Plan stops being paid or ends, Voltline will take the website offline.
These terms apply to anyone who buys a website or Upkeep Plan from Voltline (run by Travis Schkade). By paying for Voltline's services you agree to these terms. If you also signed a Voltline Website Service Agreement, that agreement applies too.
1. Fees
Design & build: $1,200 (Starter), $1,800 (Standard) or $2,400 (Pro), one time, paid after you approve your free preview and before the full build begins. It is non-refundable once the full build has started.
Upkeep Plan: $50 per month for Starter and Standard, $75 per month for Pro, starting on the day the site launches and billed monthly.
Payments are made by bank account (ACH) through Stripe.
Free previews are free, with no obligation to buy.
2. Upkeep Plan and minimum term
The Upkeep Plan is required for your website to stay online. It includes hosting, security and software updates, and small changes on request (such as hours, prices, photos and text). New pages, redesigns and new features are quoted separately.
The Upkeep Plan has a minimum term of 12 months from launch. After that it continues month to month, and either side can end it with 30 days' written notice. If you end the plan before the 12 months are up, the remaining months of the minimum term are still owed.
3. Missed payments and shut-off
If a monthly payment fails, Voltline will contact you to fix it.
If it isn't fixed within 14 days, Voltline will take the website offline until the account is paid up.
If the Upkeep Plan ends for any reason, the website is taken offline.
4. Ownership
The website's design, code and hosting are owned and managed by Voltline. You have the right to use the website for your business while your Upkeep Plan is active and paid.
Your own content stays yours: your business name, logo, the photos you provide and the text describing your business.
If you already own your domain, you keep it and Voltline points it to your new site. Otherwise, Voltline registers and manages your domain while the Upkeep Plan is active.
5. Taking your site elsewhere
Instead of the site going offline, you can buy a handoff package. Voltline will send you a copy of the website files and transfer your domain to you. Any amounts still owed, including the rest of the 12-month minimum, must be paid first. After a handoff, Voltline no longer hosts or supports the site. Contact Voltline for the current handoff price.
6. Other terms
You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you ask to be published, and for having the rights to any photos or logos you provide.
Voltline works to keep sites online at all times but can't promise zero downtime caused by hosting or internet provider outages.
Voltline's total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the 3 months before a claim.
Voltline may update these terms. Changes don't apply to payments made before the update.
